North Mérida Baptist Church

THE ALLRED'S VISION FOR FUTURE MINISTRY

The Allred`s immediate plan is to continue developing the North Merida Baptist Church and it`s missions through-out the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico through strategic evangelism and discipleship ministries. In addition to the Discipleship classes, in September 2009, the Allreds joined with another like minded Missionary family to start a four year Seminary for the preparation of national leaders, pastors and missionaries. This will allow the Allreds to continue starting solid Independent Baptist Churches in other key cities of the Yucatan Peninsula. Each of the churches can then reach their surrounding villages, thus spreading the Gospel throughout their Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and then work together to go into the uttermost parts of the world as the Lord has commanded us.

PREPARATIONS FOR THE MISSION FIELD

The Lord called Larry and Tammy into the ministry after their first mission trip to Veracruz, Mexico in 1987. After that trip, they took every available course offered in their local church and took on various roles of leadership, including: choir member, bus captain, children`s and adult SS teachers, Awana leaders, children`s church pastor, deacon, etc. In 1996, Larry completed a bachelor`s degree in the Study of Biblical Arts through the Louisiana Baptist University. He was then ordained into the gospel ministry, commissioned as a missionary to Mexico by his local church, and began full-time deputation. In May of 1997, the Allreds began language school in Edinburg, Texas. After graduating from language school in May of 1998, they worked for two years in Mexico under veteran missionaries as they continued their language and culture studies. Finally, in April of 2000, the Allreds moved to Merida, Yucatan, Mexico and began the North Merida Baptist Church. Since that time, the church has grown tremendously, reproduced itself in nearby mission works, and has witnessed the blessings of the Lord in many marvelous ways.
